Oscillate Set To Host Kohra, FILM, DEF at a Former Parking Lot in Jaipur

Though still nascent, the dance music scene in India has quickly become straitlaced and stagnant and Oscillate is an attempt to shake up the status quo by introducing an aural-visual experience that focuses on out of the box locations, curating future-facing artists, and high-quality lighting & sound systems. It’s a traveling gig series founded by Nakul Mehan and Kunal Seth in 2017, seeks to bring the global club music scene to India. Oscillate is tailored to feed the fierce appetite for Underground Electronic Music with an aim to bring forth alternative dance music experiences. After hosting acts like Seth Troxler, DJ Bone, Kevin Saunderson last season, at obscure spaces including warehouses, film studios and even an underground parking lot aiming to expand its horizon beyond the larger metropolitan cities this year. Oscillate’s next stop is Jaipur with yet another parking lot party featuring an all Indian line-up with Qilla Records boss Kohra, Medium Rare founder FILM and local hero DEF. Supporting their vision, Hotel Clarks Amer has teamed up with Oscillate to put together this experience.

About the artists

Kohra is a versatile and forward-thinking DJ/producer. He expresses his visual and aural sensibilities via Qilla Records which he set up in 2011 to promote a wide range of underground music from India and across the world. He’s played at some of the biggest festivals in the country like EDC, ADE, Awakenings (India) and more. He’s also played at various venues in Australia, UAE, Thailand and Mauritius. Sanil Sudan aka FILM lives suspended between two worlds. Oscillating between deeply moving, emotional electronic music. with a sonic vision that pulls together elements of house and techno with influences from Hip Hop, Jungle and even pop music. Productions range from straight-up dance floor jams to low-slung ambient tracks and more abstract compositions. Recent releases on Qilla Records & club appearances all over the country including festival appearances such as the acclaimed Magnetic Fields Festival topped with a residency in Berlin which took his sound to infamous clubs like Kater Blau, Suicide Circus further cement the fact that FILM is here to stay & on the rise. Born in The Pink City - Jaipur (India), Def started clubbing in an early age and was deeply influenced by house music. He started hanging out with the other DJs and organizers and started playing music at the age of 16. While practicing and playing house music in 2009 for about two years his taste of music got really minimal and he started producing Minimal/Techno.
